iQ30 có một thiết kế khác lạ nhất trong những loa thử lần này. Sử dụng công nghệ Uni-Q độc quyền của KEF, iQ30 có một loa treble đom nhôm kích thước 19mm nằm ngay trong “họng” của loa bass có màng rộng 16,5cm bằng polymer mạ titan. Kiểu bố trí Uni-Q tác động tốt đáng kể tới âm hình, bởi mọi âm thanh trên toàn dải tần đều phát ra từ cùng một vị trí.

Không chỉ vậy, iQ30 còn khác với các loa Bookshelf khác ở chỗ thùng loa không có hình khối hộp chữ nhật thông thường. Hai mặt bên của loa được uốn cong về phía sau. Dĩ nhiên đây khong chỉ thuần túy là vấn đề thẩm mỹ, hình dáng này còn có tác dụng hạn chế sóng đứng bên trong thùng loa. iQ30 có kích thước 365 x 220 x 327 mm và nặng 6,7kg.

Một chi tiết nhỏ, đó là mục “xử lý các trục trặc” (troubleshooting) trong sách hướng dẫn của iQ3  phải nói là khá khó hiểu. Cặp loa này rất dễ đấu nối, nhưng nếu gặp rắc rối nho nhỏ trong quá trình lắp đặt loa thì hy vọng bạn sẽ có đủ kiên nhẫn để giải mã những gì KEF muốn nói.

CHẤT LƯỢNG ÂM THANH
Nói chung, trên suốt dải tần chất lượng âm thanh của iQ30 khá là ổn định. Âm hình và độ sâu của tầng âm, các lớp âm thanh trước sau… phải nói là tuyệt vời, nhờ công nghệ bố trí loa kiểu Uni-Q. Chất âm của iQ30 khá thoải mái và nhẹ nhàng, nó thích hợp nhất với thể loại nhạc nhẹ, nhạc cổ điển êm dịu và nhạc blues.

Cùng với những loại nhạc mạnh hơn, dải trung có xu hướng trở nên bất thường – tất cả các nhạc cụ đều hiện ra rõ rệt và rất chính xác, nhưng dường như chúng bị gom lại mà kém tách bạch hơn. Giọng hát hơi bị khô, và giọng của một số ca sĩ nữnghe kém trung thực hơn khi nghe nhỏ. Tiếng bass của iQ30 không được rộng như nhiều loa khác, nhưng vẫn đủ mạnh mẽ và đầy đặn. KEF đã tránh không thêm vào những âm thanh “giả tạo” cho tiếng bass của mình. Nhưng với những bản nhạc nhanh mạnh, dải trầm của iQ30 lại phản ứng không kịp và tiếng trầm có đôi chút tẻ nhạt.

KẾT LUẬN
Đáp tuyến tần số của iQ30 rất phẳng trên toàn dải âm tần. Nhưng tần cao sẽ giảm nhanh khi cường độ tăng lên, làm giảm độ sắc nét của âm thanh. Dải trầm bắt đầu giảm ở khoảng 60Hz, có nghĩa là tiếng bass của iQ3 sẽ không được rộng mở như một số loa khác. Cổng thông hơi ở phía trước nên bạn sẽ không có cơ hội làm tăng tiếng bass khi đặt loa vào gần tường như các loa có lỗ hơi phía sau.

Độ nhạy khá tốt ở mức 89dB, trở kháng có giá trị trung bình là 5.8 ohm (tối thiểu là 3.5), nên phối ghép với iQ30 tốt nhất mà ampli có khả năng kéo được tải 6 ohm và tối thiểu là 50W/ kênh.

Có thể coi iQ30 là một cặp loa có tính cạnh tranh cao về hình thức và giá cả. Sức mạnh thực sự của nó nằm ở khả năng tái tạo âm thanh và chiều sâu của không gian âm thanh tuyệt vời nhờ công nghệ độc quyền Uni-Q của KEF. Nhờ vậy, chất lượng âm thanh luôn đồng đều suốt dải tần.
